Anna says: "For a novel written completely in poetry, this is not to be ignored. Each new poem begins with a page of young Jutta Salzberg’s poesiealbum (the German equal to a year book or autograph book) which is filled with notes from her friends in from the year 1938. Suddenly, her friends and their families start disappearing and all she has left is the notes they left her. Jutta writes about her father’s struggle to move the family in to the United States and how the oppressing Nazi rules affected her life. This is a remarkable true story."

Anna says: "The Hunger Games grabbed me as soon as I picked it up! Although it is told from a girl’s perspective, it would definitely be a good read for boys and girls that enjoy action and suspense. I would say that it is an appropriate read for any middle schooler. In The Hunger Games, 16 year old Katniss Everdeen is put into the experience that is the Hunger Games, a fight to the death for 24 kids ages 12-18. Can she survive the disasters that are thrown to her or will she be lost like so many others in this gripping novel? Read it to find out."
Quinn says: The Hunger Games is a novel by Suzanne Collins about a 16-year-old girl named Katniss Everdeen. When Katniss's sister Prim is picked to be in the Hunger Games, she volunteers to take her sister's place. The Hunger Games is a yearly event in which you fight to the death. When Katiniss leaves her home of District 12, all odds are against her, but, in the end, it is a true fight to the death. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a great sci-fi suspenseful book!

Stolen (Hardcover)
Availability: On Our Shelves Now
Published: Chicken House, 05/01/2010
Kaitlyn says: Stolen is not a book I would usually pick up, but I am glad I did. It is extremely well written and it interests me how the entire book is written as a letter. As Gemma retells the story of her kidnapping to her kidnapper you really feels as though you are a part of the story. The plot line is also extremely entertaining and filled to the brim with twists. The characters develop a lot throughout the story, and Christopher writes these developments in a way that seems natural and perfectly paced. It isn’t something I would usually pick up, but I would recommend Stolen to anyone.

Mistwood (Hardcover)
Availability: Usually Ships in 1-5 days
Published: Greenwillow Books, 05/01/2010
Kaitlyn says: I loved Mistwood! It is amazingly well written, and the characters and plot are fantastic. While I was reading it I was strongly reminded of Graceling by Kristin Cashore (a high praise considering the fact that Graceling is one of my favorite books). Isabel is a strong heroine and you cant help but root for her as she fights the confusion of her depleted Shifter powers along with the conspiracy circling around the Prince she is protecting. Cypess did a fabulous job portraying the tension of a country on the brink of war. The only part of the story that disappointed me was the ending, but it made sense and wrapped the book up nicely so I really can’t complain. I would recommend Mistwood to anyone, whether you like fantasy or not.
